2013 Scottish Fashion Awards: Inside The Scottish Extravaganza With Christopher Kane, Laura Carmichael & More

Last night team Grazia Daily put on our very best tartan to celebrate fashion's most fabulous Scots at the Scottish Fashion Awards. First up we went to Dover House for the awards ceremony, where Christopher Kane picked up the Designer of the Year gong, Mary Charteris bagged Scottish Model of the Year and Pam Hogg went home with the Creative Excellence Award. Laura Whitmore was the host for the evening, wearing a gothic sheer black number by Chris Kane, and did an excellent job at entertaining the fashion crowd. We spotted the blonde presenter just hours before getting pampered before the event and looked radiantly flawless thanks to bareMinerals.

Then we were all bused over to 8 Northumberland where we were treated to an extravagent Scottish banquet with the winners. The venue was transformed into a Highland castle for the evening, as there were chandeliers with antlers, hundreds of dripping candles and every tartan imaginable. You could hear the bagpipes all the way down to Trafalgar Square. We were sliiightly concerned that a Scottish banquet involved five courses of haggis, but we were treated to scallops, beef and a bag filled with chocolate. That was clearly Mary Charteris' favourite part of the evening as she Instagrammed a snap of her chocolate cake. Last but not least there was a healthy supply of whisky.

We sat on a table with the lovely Christopher and Holly Fulton, and it wasn't long before conversation turned to the Highlands. After sharing tales of post-fashion week exhaustion, Holly Fulton tried to persuade us to book a Highlands holiday - apparently you need to get the sleeper train (it sounds rather romantic) and get as far North as possible.

We also caught up with our blogger pals, Tanya Burr and Ella Catliff. Tanya looked gorge in a red Coast dress, with capped sleeves and a sash at the waist, and got into the Scot spirit taking a picture with a jolly kilted gentleman. Ella Catliff looked divine in a Holly Fulton frock with a tiger print motif.
