Punk-Perfect Jewellery At The 2013 Met Ball As Seen On Cara Delevingne And Sienna Miller

A punk outfit wouldn’t be complete without a smattering of aggressive jewellery, right? It’s true that the 2013 Met Ball’s many quiffs took centre stage as the favoured styling-move of the night, but we won’t be taking those out on the town, thanks. We will, however, be quite happy to add in a dagger necklace to a day look. A studded headband – a la Sienna Miller – would make a nice adornment alternative come festival-time. And we’d definitely do two of the biggest trends of the evening: rings-on-each-finger and ear cuffs.

So who were the brands providing these snarling extras? Classic red carpet jewellers like Tiffany & Co. and Van Cleef & Arpels all unleashed their bad and rad sides for the evening – with Fred Leighton going so far as to create a nose ring for the usually very tame Jessica Biel! In addition, we also spotted some newer names on the accessories circuit that you need to get acquainted with. After all, the trend for this kind of ferocious frosting isn’t a one-night affair: knuckle dusters, skull and crucifix jewels, tough metal-work – like safety pins or barbed wire – have been on the style rise for some time now. The only difference is; you’ll be wearing them with a t-shirt rather than a gown. Scroll through the gallery above to find out who’s wearing what...
