Mr and Mrs Beckham; David and Victoria; VB and DB or just good old Posh and Becks – call them what you like, it’s safe to say this globally famous power couple are firmly cemented as one of the biggest – and wealthiest – players in our nation’s cultural DNA. Let’s just say it: they’re a national treasure. And who can believe it’s been fifteen whole years since the birth of one of our country’s finest exports and original fairy-tale romances.
Yup, it was over a decade and a half ago that a slightly coy, floppy-haired, turtle-necked David stood on the steps of a hotel just outside Chester, with his significantly more famous Spice Girl girlfriend in his arms, to reveal to the world that, after a whirlwind romance, he had popped the question with that whopper of a diamond ring.
That was January 1998. The world was in the grip of Spice Mania and David, then aged 23, was being heralded as the finest footballer of his generation. A position he has maintained up until his retirement just last month. The engagement news was the Wills and Kate of its time – making headlines across the globe.

In celebration, the new issue of Grazia - out now - brings you all things Beckham. From their ups and downs to changing wardrobes, not to mention changing haircuts, and Mrs B’s chameleon-like ability for reinvention, we pay homage to their union that has remained one of the strongest in showbusiness.
Get your Grazia pronto for the full shebang but for now, take a trip through the gallery below. It's a taster of why these two are a matchy-matchy made in heaven because when it comes to experimenting with style, David and Victoria liked to be there for each other. From matching Gucci leathers to Timberland boots there was a time when his’n’hers coordination was key. Enjoy!
