As 2014 is just around the corner, we thought it was the perfect time to settle down and look over the frock fest that was 2013. We'll be looking to the red carpet to soften our post Christmas blues, as Awards Season kicks off in the beginning of January. But before we say bu-bye to 2013, let's look back at the 100 best red carpet moments this year.
We did the red carpet maths to work out which designer won the red carpet race over in Hollywood. It was Valentino who dressed the most starlets during Awards Season, including Jennifer Aniston, Allison Williams and Miranda Kerr. The usual suspects - Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior, Elie Saab and Oscar de la Renta - all got plenty of air time.
This year was a big'un for Dior, as Raf Simons' dream gowns made the red carpet extra magical. Jennifer Lawrence did the impossible and made us love Christian Dior more than ever thanks to her giant cream Oscars gown, Hunger Games wardrobe and strapless navy SAGs number. Then there was our best dresser of the year, Marion Cotillard, whose pared-back red carpet style put her ahead of the pack.
Then there was Cannes. The frothy couture against the sparkling Riviera backdrop gave us fashion goosebumps on several occassions. We saw more tulle than we thought it was possible to see in a fortnight. There was Emma Watson in monochrome Chanel, Sharon Stone in Roberto Cavalli floor-sweeprs and Cara Delevingne in black lace Burberry, drowning in Chopard diamonds.
Other special mentions to go Angelina Jolie who made her red carpet return at the premieres of World War Z, in black flowing Saint Laurent, a Saint Laurent tuxedo and a knock out white Ralph & Russo dress. Rihanna wore one of our favourite dresses of the year at the Grammys, as she wore a divine custom Azzedine Alaia red gown.
But it wasn't all froth and glitz, as Natalie Portman and Ashley Olsen started one of our favourite red carpet trends - wearing a knit with your couture. At the world premiere of Thor: The Dark World Natalie wore a black knit with her metallic ball gown skirt. Ashley was also a master of mixing, wearing an oversized knit with her silk The Row skirt.
