Oh, Fashion Week! It comes but twice a year and when it arrives so does mania. We've been swooning over the likes of Cara and Jourdan sauntering down the catwalk for Topshop and Burberry for nearly a week now - but while things might seem calm, serene and beautiful on the runway the backstage areas are hives of activity. From models dashing from show to show to last minute alterations and from intense snacking to in-the-field make-up techniques - they're mayhem.

We've been heading backstage at loads of shows this LFW and we're here to tell you that (nearly) all the Fashion Week cliches you've heard are true. The rousing pre-runway pep talks, the last minute make-up changes, the models arriving an hour late because their last show over-ran. If you saw it on Project Catwalk it's probably happening at a show somewhere in London right now - or Paris and Milan in future weeks. There are things you see behind-the-scenes at shows that don't exist anywhere else in the world.

Here are 10 things you only see backstage at Fashion Week.

1. Nude thongs

2. Crates of coconut water

3. This much fake hair

4. This make-up artist to model ratio

5. A crazed lust for popcorn

6. Bored models

7. Panicked embellishment

8. Mousse on a paper plate

9. Professional make-up work spaces that are THIS messy

10. This guy
