#SWOON: The Best Dressed Men At The Oscars 2014 From Jared Leto To Matthew McConaughey

For many the Oscars are all about the glorious gowns but last night the men didn’t let themselves be cast into the style shadows. On the red carpet everyone’s hairspiration, Jared Leto said he wanted his look to reflect an old school vibe. The white jacket and vivid red bow tie combo worked perfectly. It’s hard to believe two things when seeing Jared Leto look so damn great. Firstly let us remind you that he is 42, yes, FORTY-TWO years old. Secondly he has the shiniest locks in the land, but only uses soap and water on his hair!

Matthew McConaughey evidently couldn’t resist going matchy matchy with his Dallas Buyer’s Club co-star, as he also opted for a white tuxedo jacket with black trousers. Plus they both carried the must-have accessory of the night - a golden statues. The matchy-matchy look was complete! We personally thought it was an OUTRAGE that Matthew wasn’t awarded sooner for his fine acting talents. C'mon How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days was THE cinematic triumph of our time.

Leo may have lost out to Matthew in the Leading Actor category but he certainly didn’t let himself be trumped on the red carpet. He showed he has learnt a lesson or two from playing Gatsby, as wore a very dapper looking suit. He had his mum on his arm, not a super model, which is in itself is a front page worthy shocker. All of the Victoria Secret models must have had prior engagements…

Aside from Jared’s impressively groomed facial hair there were a number of beards making an appearance on the red carpet last night. Bradley Cooper accessorised his suit with a jolly good beard and Michael Fassbender combined some fiery red topiary and a suit which had striking satin lapels. #Enjoyable.

There was one lesson to be learnt from the Academy Awards red carpet, women aren’t the only ones who can make a strong style statement. At least when when Pharrell Williams is on the guestlist. Despite the fact the Hollywood elite were thrown into a panic when the heavens opened early on Oscars day, Pharrell remained calm and still wore his Lanvin short suit. Some were outraged, but Pharrell we give you a style salute!
