Stars these days are all about selfies so it was only a matter of time before someone thought of it – dispensing with photographers, stylists and hair 'n' make up, that is, and just leaving it up to the stars themselves...
Interview magazine has released its September issue – the #ME issue – with no less than eight different front covers, each featuring a different selfie snapped by a megastar.
Examples include Miley Cyrus, who uses her teeth to lift up her shirt; Zayn Malik showing the abs he sports beneath his shirt; Victoria Beckham posing with David and Brooklyn Beckham lounging in the background on their phones (she properly got the irony, bravo VB!) and Kim Kardashian-West, apparently naked. The other front covers were taken by (and of) Madonna, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez and fashion photographer, Mert Alas.

Using the hashtag #INSTAGANG, the September issue of the magazine – which was founded by Andy Warhol in 1969 – includes an interview with Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom, and a legion of other self-portraits, from the likes of Cher, Ai Weiwei, Kendall Jenner and Alexander Wang.
On why they chose to dedicate an entire issue to the narcissistic trend, Interview editorial director, Fabien Baron, commented: 'Social media is where we live now, no question. And if Andy (Warhol) were still alive, he'd have a huge presence online.
'In much the same way we at magazines put together a story and create a character or narrative, everyone can now package themselves as they see fit.
'Everyone can invent their own image and create their own story,' the Daily Mail reported.
Well, if Andy (Warhol) would have liked it, we're more than ok with it too. And on that note... hmm... where's that camera...?
