Is that the sound of Kate Middleton's purse strings loosening? No doubt the Duchess will be tempted by these shots of the ALICE by Temperley Spring Summer 2013 collection that have just landed.
The sister line of Temperley London, which the Middletons are mega fans of, has a more laid-back, everyday vibe perfect for a garden tea party rather than a lavish palace affair. Don't get us wrong - there are still elegant shapes a-plenty with voluminous skirts that flare from the waist and a long pirouette dress consisting of a lace mini dress with a floor length detachable outer layer in soft, floaty chiffon.
Pirouette, you say? Yep, the Brit designer has drawn inspiration from a ballerina for this collection - see the delicate lace and pretty colours mixed with the dramatic influences of the patterns and prints of the Ballet Russes.
So as well as the ALICE by Temperley signatures - monochrome, lace, leather and print - there's a smattering of vibrant statement prints. The Nijinsky print was originally hand drawn, then digitally re-worked before being printed onto silk crepe-de-chin adding a folk edge to the feminine styles. There's also the odd figure-flattering bodycon dress, but in a sophisticated rather than LiLo stylee.
'My love is in the detail. We have a design signature that is quintessentially British, feminine, timeless and effortless with an independent spirit,' the designer exclusively told Grazia Daily. What more could you want?
