Heard of the precious metal Palladium? Well it’s time to make yourself familiar with this clever metal, as it’s not only set to become the next big thing in the world of fine jewellery but Georgia May Jagger has been named the face of Vivienne Westwood’s latest Palladium collection, Gainsborough.
With an ad campaign shot my Juergen Teller, Georgia models the collection’s Tiara and drop down, decadent earrings. A nod to Vivienne’s love for all things vintage, Gainsborough is influenced by Vivienne’s last collection, Paper jewellery, which was inspired by Trompe L’oeil drawings, first shown at Vivienne Westwood’s Gold Label Collection for Autumn Winter2000/2001. With nine pieces in the collection which feature diamonds and sapphires, the range consists of a bracelet, ring, earrings and of course the tiara seen in the ad campaign on Georgia.
Palladium is a precious metal that designers are choosing as their metal of choice because of its strength which allows designers to use larger gem stones within intricate designs whilst also being very lightweight. A big appeal when it comes to creating fine jewellery pieces.
Vivienne was more than complimentary on the collection’s new face, “We chose Georgia May because she’s absolutely gorgeous. She’s so beautiful and looks wonderful in the jewellery”. We couldn’t agree more, with Georgia’s rock and roll background and Vivienne’s exquisite designs, it’s a match made in jewellery heaven!
Georgia is certainly riding high in her latest fashion and beauty campaign success. GraziaDaily recently reported on Georgia being the new face of Just Cavalli fragrance and of course her on going Rimmel London make-up ad campaigns.
The Gainsborough Collection starts from £270 and is available from Vivienne Westwood stores
