Could Lady Gaga Be The Leading Lady In The Upcoming Zoolander Sequel?

19 October 2012 by

Break out the Blue Steel, because Zoolander is back! After 13 years away from the catwalk, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson will reprise their roles as mega (dim-witted) models Derek Zoolander and 'he's so hot right now' Hansel MacDonald, and they're not alone. Lady Gaga has been reportedly offered £3 million to star in the sequel as a top model and love interest!

Details are slim, but Jennifer Aniston lover-boy Justin Theroux wrote the script and will direct the sequel. However, Ben Stiller, who starred, co-wrote and directed the first instalment, is heavily involved in the process, and personally chose Gaga, who he believes 'has the talent and attitude' to take on the role as the potential leading lady.

While they're banking on Gaga, the Zoolander crew have alternative candidates in case she declines the offer, which includes Kate Moss, Kate Upton, Adriana Lima, and Heidi Klum. You know it's going to be good when supermodels are your back-ups. And considering the first Zoolander featured top designers Tom Ford, Donatella Versace and Karl Lagerfeld, we can only expect an equally chic and star-studded cameo list for the sequel. This ain't no school for ants, folks.

And speaking of tall orders, we also hear Amy Adams is attached to forthcoming Janis Joplin biopic, Get It While You Can? While she's a decade older than Joplin was at her early demise, and it's a completely different aesthetic to Adams' usually Broadway style warbles, we think under Lee Daniels' direction she could pull it off.

Do you think she's a good choice for the biopic? What about Gaga for Zoolander? To celebrate Gaga's possible new role, click through the gallery of her already prosperous modelling career.
