Karl Lagerfeld Would Rather Die Than Retire - We Look Back At His Most Infamous Quotes

GALLERY>> Karl Lagerfeld's Most Infamous Lager-isms

Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of Chanel and father of Choupette Lagerfeld, has announced he would rather die than retire. When asked on when he's thinking of putting down the Shu Uemura-coloured designs permantently, the Kaiser had this to say: 'Why should I stop working? If I do, I'll die and it'll all be finished,' he said.

'There's something boring about people who have to go to an office for a living, I wanted to do this job since I was a child. I love fashion. I'm lucky to work in the most perfect of conditions. I can do what I want in all kinds of areas. The expenses are not expenses. I would be stupid to stop that. Work is making a living out of being bored.' We're happy to agree with you there, Karl!

This is not only great news for the fashion-minded, but also for those who wait with baited breath for what his acerbic tongue will spit out next.

Not known for mincing his words, Karl has raised eyebrows for his comments on Adele, Pippa Middleton, and most recently, anorexia in the modeling industry (or in his view, the lack thereof). He also has some interesting philosophies on eating, tracksuit bottoms and flip-flops.

As with an insulting grandmother, while we don't agree with many of Karl's 'opinions,' we gotta say we love talking about them; because a world without good ol' Lager-isms is as he says, very boring indeed.
