Ooo this could be exciting. In an exclusive chat with Grazia this week Sadie Frost has revealed that she would like to cast Cara Delevingne in her upcoming film Set the Thames on Fire. Speaking about the new project, which will be produced by her film company Blonde to Black pictures, Sadie told us, ‘There’s a part we would love Cara to be in it, I’ve known her for quite she’s got such an amazing look and such a great energy, she’s perfect for the part so I hope she can do it,’ adding, ‘We’re just in early talks together at the moment.’ How coolwould that be? Cara could be like Agy Deyn mark two with the whole model turned actress thing.
We spoke to Sadie at the premiere of her new short film The Actress at the W Hotel earlier this week. Directed by Ben Charles Edwards Sadie stars as Mabel Stanford an actress reaching the end of her life. The 20 minute flick (which is very funny fyi) chronicles some of Mabel’s film hits as she relives her greatest moments through the eras – from silent movies, to film noire, to a sitcom. Speaking about the role Sadie said, ‘It was a dream of mine to be in a silent movie, to be a femme fatale in a film noir and you know to get that opportunity was so much fun,’ she went on to say, ‘I think I liked the silent movie best, I always wish I’d been born in the twenties and could have been a silent movie star. I love black and white films and all those old classics.’
Director Ben – who has worked with Sadie on various projects over the last five years – praised her for her part in the film, ‘Considering Sadie had to age physically and with her behaviour and acting and go through five different genres over 50 year it’s a task that all the other actors were like how can you do that in three days. An actor needs time to pull these things off but Sadie achieved it,’ he said. Also at the premiere were Zara Martin who was wearing a super cute All Saints leather jacket and Jack Guinness, probably one of best looking bearded men in showbiz. What a lovely night.
