Rihanna, Kate Moss, Olivia Palermo & Co Showcase Winter's Hottest Coats: Shopping Fix!

11 October 2012 by

It has officially turned chillier, meaning many of us have been caught out still braving a bare leg and feeling the cold in our biker jackets, but there are a few A-listers who are ahead of the game and have already invested in a chic winter coat. This season everything from the casual parka, to a bright evening coat and a shaggy shearling number goes - already seen through the fab selection of outerwear already showcased by the above A-listers.

Singer Rihanna was spotted heading to a recording studio for a late night session wearing an Autumn/Winter 12 Elizabeth & James cammoflage parka jacket that is exclusive to Barney's NY. A classic in every wardrobe, we love how designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have pimped the classic parka by giving it a statement print and contrasting trim. Both Girls Aloud singer and Tank Fashion Director and Publisher Caroline Issa opted for more tailored numbers. Caroline's decadent evening coat in a gorgeous shade of yellow is taken from Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2012 collection, but winter brights were huge on the catwalks, making a nice alternative to a default black winter cover-up. For a standout transeasonal look, a leather trench or a suede and monogolian trim coat will really turn heads, as seen on supermodel Kate Moss and Olivia Palermo. A more affordable way to work these seriously investment buys is to opt for leather sleeves or panels and keeping the shearling to the trimming.

We've picked our top 5 statement coat styles for you to choose from. Read on and enjoy!
