Girls Go Wild: Nicole Kidman, Amy Adams and Lily Donaldson Go Fashion Rogue

Since Lara Croft, womenfolk have been nigh on starved of fierce heroines. Sure we’ve had Lisbeth Salander and K-Stew did a pretty good job of making Snow White look tough, but bona fide action figure-worthy iconettes? Not so much. So we’ve been thrilled to see some of our favourite actresses and models working an all new tough girl look in recent editorials and ad campaigns, proving that just ‘cos you’re pretty it doesn’t mean you can’t throw a mean pose.

First up we have Julie and Julia star Amy Adams channelling the pioneer spirit of the Wild West in her Polaroid campaign for Boy Band of Outsiders. Toting a shoot ‘em up pistol and swigging from a hip flask, Adams channels old school rugged masculinity. Next up is British model Lily Donaldson who stars in the new 7 For All Mankind video directed by James Franco. In the short film we see Lily hanging out in a pool hall, riding a Harley and working a biker jacket with some seriously good rocker girl hair. Getting in on the act is Nicole Kidman who takes a trip with the Monster Truck rally for a Terry Richardson shoot for Harper’s Bazaar US. Strutting her stuff on top of car bonnets and in between waist high tyres, Kidman proves that big toys aren’t just for boys.
