Michelle Obama is proving to be a useful tool in the 2012 presidential election - charming us with amorous tales of her hubby, giving a sensational speech at the Democratic National Convention and taking to talk show sofas. Now the First Lady has impressed us with a dollop of edgy, super-cool Britishness in her campaign wardrobe.
Oh yes, MObama attended the first presidential debate at the University of Denver wearing a purpley-blue dress and jacket from Preen’s Autumn Winter 2011 collection. It's a favourite ensemble for FLOTUS who's worn it twice before - most memorably when she stepped off a plane at Stansted Airport in May last year. Not only that, but Michelle is proving to have quite the penchant for the London-based label - from a colour-blocked sheath to a peplum'd number, the gallery above showcases Michelle looking pretty in Preen on multiple occasions.
Grazia Daily spoke to Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, the (very excited) design duo behind the brand, about Michelle's Preen preference. 'We knew she was going to wear this look to arrive in the UK last year as we had been approached to make it especially for her,' Justin and Thea exclusively told us. 'But it was a complete surprise that she wore it again.'
So what is it about the First Lady's style that makes her so Preen perfect? 'We just love that she embraces modern designers and is effortless and fearless,' the duo said. And we have to agree: Mrs. O sure has our vote.
