GALLERY >> Kate Winslet's 20 Best Red Carpet Looks
Kate Winslet turns 37 today, so what better way to celebrate than with a look at her best red carpet frocks.
She has been an award season veteran for 15 years. She has an Oscar, a Bafta and a Golden Globe on her dressing table and of course a wardrobe filled with beautiful, beautiful gowns.
From Ben de Lisi at the Oscars to Jenny Packham at world premieres, she rocks the plunging neckline, LBD and red lippy look better than anyone else...
Take a look at Kate's style-volution in our gallery above....

Premiere of Sense and Sensibility 1996
In 1995 the director of Sense and Sensibility Ang Lee said he saw 20-year-old Kate as a raw talent who was in need of guidance. He made her exercise tai chi each night, write GCSE-esque papers on her character Marianne Dashwood and study poetry.
She was clearly keen to put down the books, wearing a black lace bodysuit to the premiere.
Kate's first Golden Globes in 1996
In 1996 Kate was nominated for best supporting actress for Sense and Sensibility. She said at the time: "I'm not a period babe, not at all. I haven't really addressed the fact I have done all these period films... I do feel very comfortable in the clothes."
She wasn't quite ready to pose in look-at-me gowns yet, so opted for a questionable (very shiny) blue coat to the Golden Globes.
Kate was just 20 years old, starring in a film with Hugh Grant and was nominated for an Oscar for Sense and Sensibility... OF COURSE the girl wanted to wear a big pink princess dress on her big night.
Maybe this is the reason for Kate's love of LBDs? Enjoy, this is the only time you will see barbie Kate.
Golden Globes 1998
Kate was nominated for the best actress Golden Globe for Titanic and opted for a black gothic lace gown with dark lips. But come on who cares about the dress when you have Leonardo DiCaprio on your arm?
Kate was nominated for a Bafta for Iris and looked très sophis in a long black gown with gold details around the neckline.
Kate looked incredible in this red Ben de Lissi gown she wore to the Oscars. It was so good that Anne Hathaway wanted in and wore a near identical gown to the Acadamy Awards in 2008.
You know how it goes... imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and all that jazz.
Finding Neverland premiere 2004
Kate is a loyal fan of designer Ben de Lisi after making the best dressed lists at the Oscars in 2002 in his red hot gown. For the premiere of Finding Neverland Kate wore a baby blue Ben de Lisi creation.
She may not have been nominated this year, but what would an award season be without red carpet royalty Kate Winslet? This time she wore blue, opting for a Badgley Mischka design. This look is classic Kate - a plunging neckline and plenty of sparkles.
Holiday premiere 2006
There is snow and christmas trees in the background and she is wearing a big ol' festive frock. Yep, It's official Kate looked like holiday perfection in this black chiffon Valentino gown.
Another year, another Oscars, another Kate Winslet gown. In 2007 she became the youngest actress to have FIVE Oscar nominations.
This time she was nominated for Little Children and wowed in a light green Valentino silk gown with Chopard jewellery.
Revolutionary Road premiere 2009
Leo and Kate were reunited on the red carpet for the premiere of Revolutionary Road. Kate wore a revealing, super short Narciso Rodriguez LBD with leather detailing.
They look like the perfect couple, but Kate said kissing Leo in Titanic was like kissing her own brother. Her children also call him Uncle Leo.
Screen Actor Guild Awards 2009
There was a clear pattern to Kate's award season appearances in 2009. She turned up in an amazing figure hugging dress and left with the best actress award in hand. Oh yes and sometimes there was an emotional speech or two in between (cough, Golden Globes).
To the Screen Actor Guild Awards she wore an incredible Narciso Rodriguez blue gown. HOT!
Kate won Best Actress at the Baftas for The Reader and looked every inch the leading lady in a black Zac Posen mermaid dress.
Kate won her first Best Actress Oscar for The Reader after SIX nominations. The Yves-Saint Laurent one shoulder gown with a necklace by Chopard was also a winner.
Emmy Awards 2011
This time Kate won the Outstanding Lead Actress for her role in Mildred Pierce. She once again showed off those killer curves in a bright red Elie Saab gown with you guessed it, a plunging neckline.
Doesn't get much hotter, does it? Oh she also shared her award with her mum, which is just adorable.
Venice Film Festival 2011
Kate got everyone talking when she stepped on the red carpet in this Stella McCartney body-con monochrome dress. The pannelling is genius - hugging her curves to perfection.
Kate certainly loves an LBD, but that doesn't mean she always plays it safe. This time at the 'Mildred Pierce' TV Premiere in New York, she braved a Stella McCartney polka dot mesh insert little number. And yep she looked smokin.
2012 Golden Globes
Kate always does the red carpet to perfection, and this Yves Saint Laurent gown she wore to the 2012 Golden Globes is one of our all time faves.
Cesar Awards 2012
Kate ditched her signature black style at the 2012 Cesar Awards and wore head to toe sequins. Her black and gold sequin Jenny Peckham gown with deeep plunging neckline was incroyable. And she didn't stop at the dress - she had some impressive Cartier gold hoops and a yellow and gold diamond bracelet.
Titanic 3D premiere 2012
15 years after Titanic, Kate still looks every inch the leading lady as she wore a Jenny Packham black full-length gown with Swarovski crystal cap sleeves. Kate has well and truly mastered a winning formula - black gown, red lips and plunging neckline.
