Happy Birthday Kate Winslet! Let's Celebrate With A Look At Her Red Carpet Style-volution

In 1995 the director of Sense and Sensibility Ang Lee said he saw 20-year-old Kate as a raw talent who was in need of guidance. He made her exercise tai chi each night, write GCSE-esque papers on her character Marianne Dashwood and study poetry.

She was clearly keen to put down the books, wearing a black lace bodysuit to the premiere.

Roberta Emerson (Mon Oct 08 04:04:11 BST 2012): the 2012 golden globe dress is wrong. That Yves Saint Laurent gown was worn in 2010 when she presented the award to Jeff Bridges. She wore a Jenny Packham gown to pick up her golden globe for Mildred Pierce.
