Lady Gaga Wears Red Vintage Dress By Gianni Versace For Dinner With Donatella In Milan

While we trawl through emails on this drizzly Monday night in between scoffing truffles, Lady Gaga is glammed up in all her finery at the Palazzo Versace on Via Gesù in Milano, where a private dinner is being held in her honour by, oh, just Donatella Versace. And what did the popstrel wear for such an auspicious occasion? A full-on Versace gown, that's what!

Her curve-hugging red gown is particuarly special because it was designed by Donatella's brother, the late Gianni Versace, and comes from the designer's bondage collection. It features intricate straps as well as that signature gold medusa buckle on a black studded belt. Gagaloo has brought the look into 2012 with a pair of dark sunglasses and a ladylike handbag hot off Versace's Spring Summer 2013 catwalk.

It's a super-sophisticated look from the starlet who we've most recently seen smoking weed on stage and posing in her undies. That 'Louis Vuitton brown' hue of her tumbling curls lends a true Italiano vibe a la Monica Bellucci, dontcha think? Especially topped off with those killer scarlet nails and matching lippy. Lady G sure looks swell posing next to her designer doppelganger who looks as fierce as ever in her black leather gear. Talk about a fashwan moment!

Of course, this isn’t the first time that her Ladyship has been spotted in vintage Versace. She went through a phase in 2011 when she'd appear on red carpets and interview couches wearing everything from a prim(ish) buttoned up shirt to a full-blown colour and print explosion get-up. Then came her music video for 'Edge of Glory' in which she wore solely Versace.

At the time, Donatella said: 'I am a great fan of hers and I believe that my brother Gianni would have appreciated her talent. Like him, Lady Gaga is unafraid to push boundaries and she has created an original vocabulary by merging fashion, music, theatre and art. For me, this video represents a wonderful tribute to anyone who is unafraid to take chances.’ Ah, there's nothing better than a good fashion love-in.
