Not content with having a bag inspired by her derrière, Lady Gaga debuted her first ever rap song at the Mugler show last night. Considering Nicola Formichetti is Mugler's creative director as well as Gaga's super-stylist (his new handbags were inspired by her bum) and the songstress has worked his catwalk in the past, it makes perfect sense, non?
Picture this: as Mr Formichetti's fierce Spring Summer 2013 collection hits the runway, the sound of Gaga's potty mouth blasts through Paris architecture museum Cite de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine. In fact, new single Cake has been doing the rounds on t'internet for the past 10 days but because the diva's voice is barely recognisable on the track (it's distorted to sound like a man's), some thought it was a practical joke. So how does Gaga put an end to the speculation? By featuring it on the soundtrack for her stylist's show! Tres bien.
Azealia Banks with Nicola at the Mugler show
Despite providing the music, Lady Rappa Gaga wasn't at the late-night Mugler show (she was performing in Zurich), but Azealia Banks was on the FROW to represent the Formichetti crew with lashings of emerald green hair. As the designer-slash-stylist told Grazia Daily, he's quite taken with Azealia's 'harlem chic'. What's more, his show closed with her stonking hit Esta Noche.
So has Queen Monster been taking rapper tips from Nicola's new muse, we wonder? Is she joining the rapping world to avoid being upstaged by up-and-comer Banks? Nicola tweeted that he's editing a video of the show to be released any. minute. now. so our eager ears will just have to wait.
The video - and Gaga's rap debut! - is here. In true rapper style, the track that featured in the Mugler show references the feud between the songstress and Cathy Horyn, specifically: 'Cathy Horyn, your style ain't dick/ Walk a mile in these foot-high heels/ I run in these, you ain't runnin' shit/ You chew beef, I wear meat...' Nice.
