The countdown is ON and in a matter of days, we'll finally see Raf Simons' first ever ready-to-wear collection for Christian Dior. The show takes place at 2.30pm on Friday afternoon during Paris Fashion Week and Simons - whose tenure at Jil Sander ended abruptly last season – is expected to bring his brand of modern minimalism to Dior’s Jolie Madame customer. But which of Raf's A-list fans can we expect to see on the most covetable of FROWs? For starters, we've got our bets on the usual Dior crew, naturallement.
As the face of Miss Dior Cherie fragrance, Natalie Portman has graced many a Dior front row in her time and considering she arrived at the swanky dinner for LA Dance Project on Sunday night wearing a dreamy bustier gown from the designer's recent Couture collection (avec brand new blonde 'do) no doubt she'll want to champion the brand's new hire. Right?
Speaking of the glorious Couture collection, it saw a double whammy this weekend. On the very same night that Natalie was spotted in her princessy gown, Julianne Moore was working the Emmys' red carpet wearing the long-sleeved yellow number with a knitted cashmere top that hit the catwalk back in July. Might the fiery-haired actress make an appearance on Friday? Fingers crossed, peeps.
Raf Simons for Christian Dior Couture
But that's not all. Another Raf-for-Dior stunner made a red carpet appearance courtesy of Jennifer Lawrence who brought a refreshing twist to the Toronto Film Festival in a jaw-dropping multi-coloured print dress. She was followed by Marion Cotillard who arrived at the festival to promote her new film Rust & Bone wearing a demure grey frock with a flirty peplum.
In fact, Mademoiselle Cotillard also wore a Raf creation to the The Dark Knight Rises premiere in London - who could forget that orange-textured top and printed skirt accented with a gold metal waistband? Of course, we wouldn't expect anything less than a wardrobe brimming with Dior Couture from the face of the brand - but will she bag a FROW ticket too? One thing's for sure: we sure love her Parisian swishes.
Jessica Biel and Rachel Weisz have also donned a splash of Simons' Dior creations so here's hoping they'll add some Hollywood wattage to the proceedings. But whether you'll be watching for the FROW or catwalk action - or, like us, a bit of both - you can tune into Raf’s RTW debut when it's live streamed here. Bring on the gorgeousness!
Emma Watson in Dior Couture
UPDATE: And here's another! Emma Watson rocked up to a special screening of her latest film The Perks Of Being A Wallflower in London on Wednesday night and became the third person in one week to wear a Raf x Dior creation. The Brit starlet surprised the fash pack with a more masculine ensemble than we're used to consisting of a black cut-off ballgown styled with black cigarette trousers for a OTM peplum effect. She topped off the look with the very same pointed Dior heels we saw on the catwalk as well as diamond Boucheron earrings and a silver Tiffany & Co. keys heart pendant necklace. Wouldn't it be fab if she put in a PFW appearance?
