Milan Fashion Week is a glitzy affair, so we always look forward to its amazing line up of parties. This weekend we’ve been serenaded by incredible songstresses, sampled delicious dinners and canapés and drank more champers than is sensible without back to back show schedules – but hey, it’s Milano, you really can't help but go with the party atmosphere.
First stop on Friday night was a fabulously glamorous party at the new Just Cavalli store. With signature jaguar printed carpets, tuna tartar and risotto balls on the menu and an eclectic guest list bringing together Cavalli’s coterie of kaftan-clad, perma-tanned ladies, the party was just like stepping on to the designer’s purple hued yacht. Then we had the musical talents of Azealia Banks – one of Milan’s most snapped FROW stars – and Solange Knowles on the mixing table. A bit of rap and a lot of bling – what’s not to love?!
Next up was the Versus ‘happening’ which followed directly the high energy S/S 2013 show. Accompanied by the awesome power of Beth Ditto’s voice, the show was one of this season’s ultimate fashion moments. So when Beth jumped off stage after the finale and turned the showspace into a veritable moss pit, we had to get in on the action – see our pics from the scrum here.
All after-parties led inevitably to the bar at The Principe di Savoia where we danced up a storm in the company of designers like Christopher Kane and models including Dree Hemmingway. One thing’s for sure – this is a city that knows how to throw a fashion bash. Now pass us the Alka –Seltzer!
