WATCH Gucci's Spring Summer 2013 Show LIVE From Milan Fashion Week!

This season's Gucci show was all about minimalist shapes with an exotic edge. From shirt-jackets and high-neck blouses, to mini dresses with a cocoon shape or super-long tapered dresses, they came in a colour palette of sharp azalea, citrus yellow and electric blue. Bell sleeves gave volume to cocktail dresses and prints a touch of the Orient, with sea anemone and Japanese wallpaper for pajama-style outfits. The snake-style pattern was printed on tunics and pants using fibres from Japanese paper, or in exotic silk lamè jacquard-like python. There were flashes of skin through artful cutouts and patent accessories for a playful fetish vibe.

Then came the evening segment of black and white organza mixed with embroidered tulle. Kimono style tiers on the sleeves redefined the column dress, transforming into a dreamlike sculpture. 'These are portraits of aristocratic women,' explained Creative Director Frida Giannini. 'Evoking a strong allure with a clean, precise, defined aesthetic. The inspiration started with Richard Avedon and Gian Paolo Barbieri’s historic photographs of their female icons.'

Wimintra Jangnin (Fri Sep 21 02:29:21 BST 2012): No electric , neon color of all kinds for me. Loves the cocoon shape and long dress kinda remind me of Morticia Addams in colored version.
