Wow! Well, that was exciting, wasn’t it? That’s right, yesterday marked the return of one Mr Philip Treacy to London Fashion week after a whooping ten years away from the runway. And after a stunning show dedicated to his late friends Isabella Blow and Alexander McQueen – which was opened by none other than Treacy super fan Lady Gaga – it’s no wonder that the man himself wanted a bit of down time before heading over to Maddox nightclub in Mayfair to party the night away.
Joined by the ever fabulous – and always unique – Grace Jones, Philip was congratulated on the show which saw him use only black models, a move which has been highly praised by the fashion world. Indeed, Jourdan Dunn, who walked the runway, has previously spoken out about the prejudices that she has experienced. She said in a recent interview, 'There are loads of new black faces on the runways, which is a great thing,' adding, 'When I started out, it was different. I did experience some issues with the colour of my skin – I used to get a list of castings and there would be notes saying they just wanted blondes.’
Joining the party (sponsored by ultra chic Ciroc Ultra Premium Vodka) were Dita Von Teese, Laura Whitmore and Niall from One Direction. However, the cheeky Irish lad admitted that he wasn’t too sure about all this fashion stuff saying of Treacy, ‘Is he the one with the hats?’. Yes, Niall. He is.
