Moschino Cheap and Chic's party after their much-anticipated runway show was Grazia Daily's kind of culture clash, a true celebration of all things British and Italian. That is to say, we got to rub shoulders with national treasure Alexa Chung while munching on some pretty delicious Neopolitan pizza. Fashion heavyweights Moschino are always sure to attract the finest of the fashion pack, and alongside Alexa, we spotted Pixie Lott, Kelly Brook, Jasmine Guinness and Zara Martin getting into the Mediterranean vibe. Kelly Brook and Pixie Lott were both looking uber-ladylike in some classy Moschino frocks. Far from the hubbub of Somerset House, we all hunkered down in a seemingly abandoned warehouse to sip cocktails and dance to some proper, old-school R'n'B. The party was certainly lo-fi - out in the open on a slightly brisk September night, guests huddled up to one another, under the shadow of the industrial Smithfields location. We were a little taken aback by the grungy surroundings - you couldn't imagine the romantic Moschino girl partying in E1 - yet juxtaposition seemed to be the buzzword of the night, with pizza being served on paper plates to immaculately dressed editors. Of course we gratefully chowed down a few slices - at fashion week, any party that serves food that doesn't come on a blini gets a massive gold star from us.
Perhaps it was something of the Italian effect, but we noticed a lot of love going on; Alexa Chung and Daisy Lowe kept jumping into each other's arms like schoolgirls reunited on the first day of term, and Oliver Cheshire (Mr Pixie Lott) enjoyed a few clandestine cuddles with his missus. Creative juices were flowing, too - Nicola Roberts told us 'now I'm presenting my own fashion show, it's great to come and get inspiration.' Perhaps Pixie was thinking about her next Lipsy collection too- we spotted her frantically scrawling into her notebook early at the catwalk show. Would the party go on afterwards? Pixie claimed 'it would be nice to go out and get some dinner' and Zara Martin was happy to see her fash friends as she told us 'I've been filming lots for T4, so this is one of the first shows I've been able to go to.'
The party was in full swing late into the night. Viva Italia!
