Kate Middleton is currently dining with the King of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur alongside her dashing Prince. The first pictures have just flooded the Internet and, as with every single time a new pic of HRH hits the cyber-web, we all gasped and cooed and oohed and ahhhed at her Princess perfect prettiness.
And this time round – an embroidered Alexander McQueen evening gown – we all oohed and ahhed and gasped more than ever because, hang on a minute, she really actually looks like a princess. A Disney princess!
Nano-seconds later and a Google search of ‘Disney princess’ had delivered us numerous visual reference points. Namely a couple of princess frocks last seen sported on Princess Jasmine in Aladdin. Scroll on and you will see near identical replicas of the Duchess’ golden frock in a cut-out-and-keep K-Dolly format.
We wonder, just for one minute, could this possibly be where our Kate got her inspiration from? After all, we know she does her fashion homework: orchid print for visiting orchid farm; Singapore designer when visiting Singapore; princess costume when dining with a foreign King… Shame there wasn’t a tiara though. Next time please.
