Well, we bet Gwyneth Paltrow is feeling pretty pleased with herself today. That’s right, the always flawless 39-year-old actress has topped People magazine’s Best Dressed List beating last year's winner Kate Middleton who came in at second place. Bit of an accolade, eh?
The list is compiled by the magazine ever year and is voted for by their millions of readers and top fashion editors and bloggers from around the world, ie: if you win it means a LOT of people think you look pretttty good! Also in the top ten was Emma Stone who came a respectable third for her ability to always look chic on the red carpet whilst Miranda Kerr, the Kardashian sisters and Rihanna all making the top ten.
Legendary Vanity Fair editor Elizabeth Saltzman explained why she believed GP deserved to take the top spot saying that it was her simple and often elegant style that got her there. 'She doesn’t do fringe,’ she said. ‘She has a uniform. It’s simple, not overdone.’ Well we’ve got to say she’s not wrong there.
But it’s not just celebrity women who have been rewarded for their fash credentials, in the name of equal rights there’s a list of men too. Among the actors, musicians and general creative types who were honoured were Robert Pattinson (swoon), Brad Pitt (double swoon) and Jay-Z, yep he’s pretty cool too.
Now all we’re trying to work out is how to get ourselves on there for next year. Any tips, Gwyn?
