Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini To Design Florence Welch's Tour Wardrobe Again

12 September 2012 by

Everyone loves a good fashion and music collaboration. Lady Gaga and Armani, Lana Del Rey and Mulberry, Kylie Minogue and Dolce & Gabbana are just a few of our favourite artist/ designer hook-ups. So we were very excited to learn this morning that Florence Welch will be working with Frida Giannini of Gucci once again on her upcoming tour of the US and Europe.

Grazia reported last year that the flame-haired singer was working with the brand on her previous tour wardrobe after Giannini's based her Autumn/ Winter 2011 collection on by Florence's signature floaty style. When the leggy songstress’ latest tour opens this Friday she'll be wearing Gucci Autumn/ Winter 2012, including this floor-length gothic dress reproduced in a sketch by Giannini.

The designer revealed the inspiration behind the latest costumes: ‘Seeing Florence evolve as an artist since her last tour has been truly inspiring, and I was delighted to work with her on this new wardrobe. For her on-stage style, we wanted to create a romantic yet modern aesthetic for Florence to interpret with her dark glamour and dramatic sensuality. I am looking forward to the show as Florence always puts an enchanting energy into every performance.’

It seems this pair have struck up a long-term professional friendship as Flo previously described herself as 'extremely flattered' to be the subject of Giannini's work. We can't wait to see what kind of stage creations the pair comes up with over the next couple of months and we'll be sure to update you here on Grazia Daily. The 'Ceremonials' tour will take place in cities across America and Europe, including Boston, Miami, Dallas, Milan and Dublin, where singer is due to deliver her final performance on December 12.
