As we reported earlier today, our very own Pippa Middleton is taking in the sights of New York as we speak type. Yesterday, she appeared at the US Open as a guest of Roger Federer and stuck to that trademark Middy-at-the-tennis style thanks to a cute Paper London dress with a straw Kate Spade bag, tan wedges and brown sunnies. So while she's in the Big Apple, will she pop into a couple of fashion shows, we wondered. NYFW does kick off tomorrow, after all...
Rumours today suggest that Yes. She. Will. Pippa, who turns 29 on Thursday, is in town for meetings about her new book that's been billed as a 'comprehensive seasonal guide to simple and creative entertaining'. Ooh. As the Daily Mail notes, 'it is a book she hopes will cement her credentials as a party planner, and industry observers believe it could net her a small fortune in the process.' Nice work, P-Middy.
But forget the book! Let's talk about Pippa's potential FROW outfits. The one and only time we've seen Her Royal Hotness at a fashion show was back in September 2011 when she attended Alice Temperely's catwalk show during London Fashion Week and caused a right ol' stir. She chose to wear a ladylike lace frock by the designer as per tradition so we have every faith she'll do the same and start showcasing a few creations from those NY designers.
And which shows will she attend? Rather than hipster types like Proenza Schouler and Alexander Wang, we're thinking Pip's pert derrière will grace the FROWs of those classic, heritage brands like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors. We can certainly see her donning a Diane Von Furstenberg number and Carolina Herrera is right up her conservative street. But hope of all hopes is that she'll rock up to Victoria Beckham's shindig wearing a form-fitting shift dress with sky-high booties and a waist-clinching belt. Now wouldn't THAT be exciting?
It's not entiiirely out of the realms of possibility considering VB attended the Duchess of Cambridge's very royal wedding last year so we're sure they'd have LOTS to natter about. And perhaps Pippa will bag her big sis a sleek shift to wear during that tour of South Asia that's fast approaching. Please! Let's make it happen!
