??Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Talks Through Her Marks & Spencer Lingerie Collection: VIDEO

30 August 2012 by

When you're about to meet one of the most beautiful beings on the planet, you want to look at least half decent, right? So Grazia Daily was rather disgruntled when this morning turned out to be the rainest EVER as we made our way to the launch of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's first lingerie range for Marks & Spencer. By the time we reached M&S HQ on London's Oxford Street, our boucle jacket was utterly soaked. Great.

Rosie, of course, looked her typically glossy self, wearing a super-sleek black shift dress with subtle peplum that was clinched at the waist by a gold-buckled belt. She accessorised with a pair of neutral-hued two-tone heels and lashings of golden blonde locks. Oh, to look this radiant at 10am...

'I was inspired by my favourite era, the 1920s,' the lusciously-lipped model told us as she talked through every piece. Entitled Rosie for Autograph, it comprises of 33 gorgeous pieces which include luxurious silk lingerie sets, cami and French knicker sets, a teddy and a kimono-style robe, which is RHW's favourite piece and was inspired by her very own kimono.

Bras and knickers come in an array of shapes to enhance and flatter the figure and are finished with delicate pin tucked silk, fine lace edging and intricate deco detailing. The motif for the collection is a beautiful rose print - a reference to the English Rose herself, perhaps?

'To find inspiration for the collection, I trawled my favourite vintage shops and flea markets in London, LA and Paris where I found a treasure trove of gorgeous clothes and ornate pieces of jewellery, as well as pictures and patterns found in old design books and fashion magazines,' Rosie said. 'I was particularly drawn to the opulent elegance of the 20s era which really shows in my designs from the sumptuous silks I chose to the intricate deco inspired embroidery detailing on the garments.' All those hours spent walking the catwalk - specifically for Victoria's Secret - wearing the world's most exquistie designs must've come in handy too, eh?
