That's why we think she's perfect as the face of H&M's Autumn 2012 campaign.

The usually ultra-modern socialite went back in time for her Carrera Y Carrera 2012 jewellery campaign.  Olivia posed in classic, ladylike ensembles with her usually straight locks curled in a side parting reminiscent of 1940s films stars like Lauren Bacall and Rita Hayworth.

The Great Gatsby isn't only a highly anticipated film, but it's '20's style is inspiring retro red carpet chic. Katy Perry looked absolutely dazzling at the Spirit of Life Awards in Junet, dressed head to toe in flapper-wear. She wore a coral dress with an embellished lace trim, a string of long pearls and beaded headpiece plus super fluttery lashes.

What We're Wearing

Deputy Fashion News and Features Editor Hannah Almassi always looks ultra-cool, but we still love this outfit from July! Her favourite vintage colour-block Mexicana skirt (found in a great new store called Parrots and Pelican’s on Stoke Newington Road in London) is quite the statement, so by pairing with a simple H&M long-sleeved tee (worn back to front – she likes a high neckline) and black suede vintage boots, it’s an approachable route into wearing striking prints.

We found Cassie at the Epsom Derby in June looking both sexy and appropriate. Wearing the trendy thigh-bearing skirt from Rachel Zoe, an Accessorize wide-brimmed hat, and a demure vintage leopard jacket, she was a winner at the races!

Dita Von Teese has been pulling off the retro look for ages, and we're all clamouring to her for inspiration! Dita looked her fabulously pale-skinned self at her perfume launch in May at Liberty in London wearing a teal green floor-length gown, statement red lip and her signature ebony waves.

Before stealing Harry Styles' heart, British supermodel Cara Delevingne took the fashion world by storm during Spring/Summer fashion week. At the DSquared show, CD's look was Brigitte Bardot-meets-Lana Del Rey, complete with a mega blonde beehive, fluttery blacker-than-black lashes and an icy pink pout.

Kate dished out her style secrets to The Telegraph back in March, including her love of retro pieces and Rolling Stones inspirations. The boho babe's certainly not afraid of wearing a twinkling jumpsuit or fur trench. 'I don't channel it in everything I wear, but it does seem to feed through most outfits.'

Prada's S/S 2012 campaign was Americana inspired cheer and daring, with pin-up waves and retro sunnies. The campaign sported colours and prints that gave homage to Audrey Hepurn glam. Think bright headscarves and sunglasses with no chance of looking too Thelma and Louise – thank you Prada!

Lanvin's Eyewear Campaign

Lanvin's January campaign for its new Spring 2012 eyewear range was updated retro glamour and ultra-modern cool. The retro collection was inspired by Art Deco jewellery with feminine and curved frame shapes, which nod back to the elegance of the 1930’s.
