Last year, the world waited with baited breath to see her wedding dress. Her style has been praised by everyone from Giorgio Armani to, err, Kim Kardashian. And when she wears one of her trademark Whistles or Reiss numbers, they sell out within minutes.
Now a mobile phone app has been released to help anyone with an iPhone dress just like Kate Middleton. For just 69p, Kate’s Style List gives users the crucial details of the Duchess’ outfits – what she wore, who designed it, and where to buy it. It’s the perfect app for those who want to copy Kate’s iconic ladylike wardrobe.
Which is exactly what app creator Helen Barclay wants to do. The 28 year-old has quit her day job as an actress to work full-time on the app, which has proved a hit with thousands of people. Speaking to Grazia, Helen thinks that people love Kate’s style because “She always looks so immaculate. People aspire to wear her designer clothes but also like her because she wears high street - she just appeals to the masses.”
According to app stats, Helen says that the most popular Kate look has been “the teal green dress she wore to the Olympic gala – so many people have looked at that. And hundreds of people have been clicking through to the J Brand website to buy the jeans she wore during the Olympics.”
And whilst Helen loves Kate’s style more than any one else’s, she is on the look out for another celebrity fashion crush: “I’m also hoping to do another person’s Style List, although I don’t think Kate’s got any competition at the moment. I have thought about Harry’s next girlfriend!”
