Attention Stylish Cyclists: Giles Deacon Has Designed A Fab Bike Bag With Sky Ride!

As you've already heard, Grazia Daily spent this morning with the lovely Giles Deacon who's just launched a must-have cycling accessory in collaboration with Sky Ride, the national campaign from British Cycling and Sky. The limited edition bag has been designed for fashion conscious women and fits perfectly with Giles’ signature kooky style. Available in two colours - hot pink and turquoise - the bag features a snake print, reflective material and a striking badge which references the Spring Summer 2013 collection. So although we wanted to know ALL the details about his frock for Victoria Beckham's Olympics performance, there was also time to hear about his latest creation...

Grazia Daily: How did the collaboration come about?

Giles Deacon: I really liked the idea of doing a super-cool, functional bag for ladies on their bikes. It attaches onto the front by velcro hooks so is a modern alternative to a basket. It has pockets for your mobile phone and you can also carry it as bag. It's a revolutionary idea! [grins]

Grazia Daily: How nifty. You're a cyclist yourself so are you conscious of looking stylish on your bike?

Giles Deacon: Always, as you can tell! There's nothing but stylishness from me.

Grazia Daily: What would we find in your bike bag?

Giles Deacon: You don't wanna know! [Laughs] An iPad, a bike lock and loads of pens.

Grazia Daily: One of your many Gonks perhaps?

Giles Deacon: A Gonk would also be good. I'd also have print outs from my assistant about what I've not done!

Grazia Daily: How have you made the bag Giles-ian?

Giles Deacon: We wanted to use great colours and a signature print so it resonates [with the Giles aesthetic]. The icon at the front was taken from one of the illustrations that I did on my iPad. I draw tons of fashion figures.

Grazia Daily: And when can fashionable cyclists get their hands on them?

Giles Deacon: They're available for £40 from goskyride.com in October. I'm getting quite good at this [selling malarky], aren't I?

Grazia Daily: You are! Have you ever considered doing QVC?

Giles Deacon: Ha! I'll tell you who's really good on it: Rachel Zoe. In 20 minutes, she earns a quarter of a million dollars.

Grazia Daily: Not bad!

Giles Deacon: I actually think QVC is quite good. All you need to know is 'it's totally amazing!' There are worse things to do!

Grazia Daily: Indeed! And if it's good enough for Mariah...
