See Cheryl Cole's OMG Style Makeover: Ditched Print And Embraced Minimal!

14 August 2012 by

This year we’ve adjusted our eyes to the arresting fashion kaleidoscope that Cheryl Cole has provided through a continual crazy print clash. There have been no half measures in this makeover, and she has explained that the bold styling move was down to a fearless approach to her new single at the time, Call My Name. So, this riotous mash-up was set to be her thing for 2012: think back to  the Pam Hogg space jumpsuit, or the leopard pants and tropical jacket get-up. So what’s with this suddenly über minimal outfit then, missus? Has a severe print overdose caused the songstress to flip her style 180 degrees? It can happen to us all…

Her unusually pared-back, neutral and fashion-forward ensemble (wrap skirts AND oversized jumpers are two of autumn/winter 2012’s top wardrobe essentials) was for dinner with our favourite man in the music biz, Mr Will.I.Am at the proper posh Scotts in Mayfair.

The details: Narciso Rodrigues shoe-boots and Proenza Schouler PS1 clutch

With her killer Tracy Anderson-honed bod, we wouldn’t have been surprised to see CC hitting the town in a teeny bandage dress or some jazzy harem pants, so when the credits rolled in for her shockingly simple outfit, we weren’t expecting a selection of The Row (jumper), Proenza Schouler (clutch), Helmut Lang (skirt) and Narciso Rodriguez (shoes), we were duly excited. The jury’s still out on the shoes according to comments on the web (what do YOU think?), but we’re more than convinced of Chezza’s new laid back look – especially as her scraped-up ‘do and understated makeup are in tune with the relaxed clothes. Keep it up Cheryl, we’re very much enjoying!
