Oh hello! Jil Sander's delicious Pre Fall collection has launched. The collection was designed by Raf Simons who left the fashion house for Dior in February. It's the penultimate chance to buy Raf-Jil pieces before his final work for the brand, A/W 2012, hits stores.
We warn you, once you see the collection you will want to grab that chance. Inspired by American collegiate sportswear, it's a very Raf, modern take on the style of Ivy League campuses. Classic pencil skirts, sports jackets and blazers, are cut in tweeds and rich jerseys in a colour palette of navy, maroon, ruby red and emerald green.
The comfortable and chic clothing is joined by super shiny patent accessories in forest greens and plums. Plus the whole collection has a VERY kitsch twist. Sports jackets are embroidered with J's for Jil and the accessories are embroidered with white outlined italicised lettering, spelling out sorority codes like "faith", "secret", "trust", "promise" and "notorious".
The collection's campaign is shot in the style of a sorority house scene. Models with deep side parts and neat buns laze on arm chairs in a wooden panelled room and a central coffee table is covered in books and papers.
