What Does Kate Middleton Wear To Play Football? A Hobbs Dress and Nude Wedges!

26 July 2012 by

Here at Grazia HQ, we're gearing up for a Kate Middleton FEST as the Olympics shenanigans begin tomorrow. The royals are scheduled to appear at a whooping thirty events during the London Games and you know what that means? Red, white and blue coat dresses, more McQueen moments and a LOT of outings for Kate's favourite LK Bennett heels.

To kick off the fun, the Duchess of Cambridge joined Princes William and Harry at a sports festival today at Bacon's College in London. The event is to launch a new programme which will train 16 to 19 year olds to become qualified coaches and mentors. Wills has just given an excellent speech, discussing the programme that is supported by The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. Bravo!

And would you believe it, the oh-so-sporty K-Midd has been snapped playing football! It's somehow more fascinating when it's the actual royals doing normal things, dontcha think? So did the DoC wear her skinny jeans and comfy grey hoody for the kick-around? Nope! Kate was wearing a ladylike fit-and-flare dress with a white waist-clinching belt, which she teamed with nude strappy wedges by Pied a Terre. What a good sport she is! (ha) Besides, those coral jeans would've clashed hideously with that orange football, no?

Excitingly for copy-Kates, her 'Wessex' dress comes from highstreet hero Hobbs and costs a bargaintastic £35 (cut-price Kate is back, people!) but! It has, unsurprisingly, just sold out in every size. Boo.

Also: can we discuss Prince William and Harry's identikit ikat patterned belts? Have they taken tips from those matching Middy sisters? Oh, how we love a pair of matchy-matchy brothers.
