Jonathan Saunders is one of Graziadaily’s favourite designers, so we were chuffed to hear that he’s bagged a new gig collaborating with the British Fashion Council to create the London Fashion Week ‘branding visuals’ aka posters, ads and Somerset House marketing materials for the Spring/Summer 2013 season.
As winner of this year’s BFC Designer Fashion Fund, Jonathan Saunders will be the first recipient to collaborate in this new project, which it is hoped will be rolled out each and every September with Fashion Fund winners making their stamp on LFW.
Saunders’ design is based on an adapted version of his signature ombre print - which for all you fashion swots - was inspired by Hungarian French artist Victor Vasarely, who had a thing for optical illusions and geometric abstract art.

“It is an honour to be doing this for the BFC,” Saunders said today. “I am very excited to see my print being displayed in so many places during London Fashion Week. I think it is a great idea to involve designers in the promotional material for LFW. Thank you BFC for choosing to work with me for this season!”
Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council explained the decision to work with the designer saying, “Jonathan Saunders, work is very visually striking and the use of bold prints and colours are his trademark. It is extremely exciting to be able to breathe new life into the creative of London Fashion Week.”
We'll be looking forward to seeing all of Jonathan’s work in action come Friday 14th September. The countdown begins!
