Victoria's Secret Stratford Has Opened! Here's A Glimpse At The First VS In Europe!

24 July 2012 by

Three words sent squeals of excitement around the Grazia Daily team this morning: Victoria’s Secret Stratford. The first VS in Europe opened this morning at Westfield shopping centre just in time for the Olympics. (Perhaps we’ll be spotting pink lace poking out from sports vests over the next few weeks.)

We obv headed East to check out this lingerie haven and can safely say we have never seen so much underwear in one room before. The store is on the first floor in Stratford Westfield shopping centre and it’s huge, around three times the width of neighbouring Monsoon.

The front section has a similar feel to Hollister. It’s dark and sultry, with black and white prints of VS angels. It plays host to the ‘Very Sexy’ line and a wall of knickers called the ‘Panty Boutique’, a title which is perhaps a little lost in transatlantic translation.

There’s also what looks like a giant pink and white lampshade hanging in the middle of the room, as well as pink armchairs. In fact, the further into the store you go, the pinker it is.

As you walk through, monochrome prints are replaced with full colour (hello Candice!), dark walls are covered with pink drapes, and the scent of Victoria’s Secret fragrances gets increasingly intense. (The central section plays host to the many VS perfumes and makeup lines.) Meanwhile, the underwear turns from lace to satin to animal print to jewel tones.

By the time you get to the back of the store you’re in Barbie’s dream boudoir. It’s bright pink with another giant lampshadey-thing and is filled to the brim with the brightest, most fun lingerie evs.

Yes, the bras have the Victoria’s Secret ‘oumph’ that we have been craving, but Grazia Daily were even more taken with the neat piles of brightly coloured pants and bodies. We warn you now, you won’t leave without buying something.
