Here at Grazia Daily we are stalwart Mossy fans so news that an all new book Kate: The Kate Moss Book is winging its way to bookstores later this year has us all a-tizz. While we’ve already seen plenty of Kate compilations – most notably Taschen’s 2011 Mario Testino lensed tome – this book has been created by none other than her ex and baby Daddy Jefferson Hack. Of course Jefferson is one of fashion’s coolest image makers and as Editor in Chief of Another Magazine so he has a pretty well tuned eye for fashion hot-ness, but can you imagine letting an ex put together a whole book of pictures on you?
The retrospective of her work through the decades is billed to be “a highly personal and complete retrospective of Kate Moss’s career, illustrating her evolution from girl to supermodel to photographic icon, created by Moss herself.” With all the big boys from Hedi Slimane, Juergen Teller, Terry Richardson, Mario Testino and Karl Lagerfeld on board, the title is sure to be gracing many a stylish coffee table. What’s more Mossy has also personally been involved selecting each and every image to ensure the book "spans the entirety of her unparalleled career, from model to fashion designer, and muse to icon." Go Kate.
While Kate’s role in the fashion industry has been debated – when an exhibition ‘Kate Moss by The Biggest Photographers’ opened in La Gallerie de L'Instant in Paris last year many commentators argued that Kate Moss was merely a prop rather than a fashion creator – there’s no doubt that her particular brand of rock and roll attitude has been wildly influential over the past 20 years. We’d even go so far to say we can’t imagine a time when we wouldn’t want to flick through a book of Kate pics – and on that note, click through the gallery above for some Kate-worship.
UPDATE ** We've just heard that The Kate Moss Book will have no less than EIGHT different covers shot by 8 different photogrpahers and will include many never before seen pictures that Kate has personally requested. Excitement!
