So Katie Holmes announced she is divorcing husband-of-five-years Tom Cruise on Friday (you may have heard) and less than one week later, her post-Cruise ascent is already sky-rocketing. It was only yesterday that Grazia Daily was applauding the actress' fash-over and you know what they say: an outfit can say a thousand words.
Katie had ditched the no-makeup, scraggy ponytail, baggy tops and scruffy jeans formula that'd we'd become so familiar with and stepped out on Tuesday looking super-glam in a navy dress from her Holmes and Yang line plus snazzy Roger Vivier corsage heels. How glorious!
We also know the 33-year-old has returned to her BT (Before Tom) publicist, dumping the actor's management as well as the security team appointed by her husband to take charge look after her. And let's not forget Katie rented an apartment in New York, most likely for the purpose of establishing residency so she would have a better shot at getting sole custody of daughter Suri. And all this from little Joey Potter!
But here, folks, is the most exciting development of all. Today, WWD is reporting that Lady Holmes has an even greater sartorial plan and is due to show the spring collection for her fashion line at New York Fashion Week in September. OH-EM-GEE. Holmes & Yang, which the actress designs with partner Jeanne Yang, was launched in 2009 and is available at Barneys in New York, but this is the first time the brand will show at the fash-extravaganza. And although the design duo will host an intimate presentation rather than a grand-scale catwalk show, it's an impressive step towards fashdom domination.

This also has us excited about one other thing: will Katie (whisper it) rekindle her fashion friendship with a certain Victoria Beckham? Please let it be so! The once-BFFs will be presenting their lines in the Big Apple at the same time, after all, and as a seasoned pro, VB would be the ideal candidate to offer some words of wisdom, right? Plus, if their matchy-matchy wardrobes make a comeback - remember the lookalike sunnies, the identikit bobs, the coordinated coats? - Katie's sartorial status would be sealed. Consider us on the edge of our seats...
