Christian Louboutin Unveils Cinderella Glass Slipper In Collaboration With Disney!

UPDATE: When we first heard Christian Louboutin is designing THE Cinderella slipper in collaboration with Disney, we were beyond excited and today, we have a first look at the wonderous creation. WOW. The world-renowned designer has unveiled the shoe perfect for a modern-day princess during Haute Couture week in Paris.

In honour of the HD release of the enchanting film, Disney invited Louboutin to re-imagine Cinderella’s famous slipper and as part of the celebration, twenty lucky fans will have the chance to be a part of the magic and win one of the twenty original slippers. Stay tuned for further details, princess-wannabes.

We were slightly comforted to hear that the man behind those red soles is a fellow fan of Disney films. Oh good, it’s not just us then! Speaking to industry magazine Womens Wear Daily the designer said, “I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world.”

When we first heard the news, Grazia Daily was sent us into a spin. Will he be glass-blowing red soles onto the glass slipper, we asked. And could one actually walk in such a creation? We might not wear the pump to dash around fashion weeks, sure, but we would rather like to see it displayed on a red cushion.

Marc Jacobs has also dabbled in a little fairytale fantasy with his fabulous transparent pumps as have Oscar de la Renta and Miu Miu. In fact, since the most famous fairy-tale wedding of our time, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge’s royal wedding last summer, we’ve got the green light to embrace our love of all things romantic.

We were also quite thrilled to stumble across the new Disney collaboration from American bridal designer Alfred Angelo. The label has produced a range of Disney inspired wedding dresses each corresponding to our favourite fairytales, and this Cinderella one [below] would be quite the perfect match for the new Louboutin slipper...
