Grazia's Style Director, Paula Reed, gives her verdict on today's show:
'Today Raf Simons presented a combination of traditional Dior signatures with his trademark modern minimalism. From a heavily emboidered corset top worn with skinny black trousers to a classic pale pink dress and white elbow-length gloves, it was the perfect mix. Christian Dior himself was obsessed with flower ladies and his love for tulips, orchids, roses and more were evident through motifs, colours, silhouettes and prints that adorned his creations. Simons resurrected this obsession in a modern way as seen by the mauve evening dress, architectural peplums and overly-intricate embellishments. The new look silhouette is fuss-free and buzzing with a youthful energy. We left the building, decorated with a million white flowers, feeling excited and with fellow designers including Marc Jacobs, Donatella Versace, Alber Elbaz, Riccardo Tisci and Diane Von Furstenberg on the front row, there was a sense not of arch rivalry but of a new generation of solitary.
And this sparkler is the finale gown, a long organza & tulle dress with futuristic pink embroidered front and blue floral embroidered back. Bravo Raf!
Simons is mixing it up with tailored black trousers under a fuschia pink gown. We didn't expect that!
We're loving the structured ballgowns as opposed to the standard swishy fare. We've also seen T-shirts. On the Dior Couture catwalk?!
Hello canary yellow! This high-waisted evening skirt teamed with a long-sleeved top is nothing short of show-stopping.
Check out this splash of tie-dye on a full satin ballgown. Anyone else reminded of Alexander McQueen with this one?
Has Kate Middleton's coat dress style influenced the designer?
How very Natalie Portman at the Oscars. According to Dior's Twitter, the pastel colours, one of the Dior staples, are injected through the embroidered feathers on evening dresses.
A chic cut off dress strolling through the salon...
Lindsey Wixson wowing in white. Is the peplum over cropped capris the new silhouette?
This is gorgeous! And so Jil Sander, no?
Very Raf-at-Jil peplum. Didn't he say he'd do florals?
The first look is a black wool breasted tuxedo jacket with black wool cigarette pants. How interesting to be starting with YSL's signature style...
2:03 The show is about to begin! Can you see Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci on the right looking dapper in a white shirt and low-key jeans?
1:56 The FROW-ers just keep on coming. Princess Charlene of Monaco looks exquisite in a soft pink knee-length frock with a ruffle at hem while Olivia Palermo is working a sleeve-less top with an on-trend peplum paired with short-shorts showing off her slender pins. Not long now until the show starts...
1:47 Check out Donatella Versace going matchy-matchy with daughter Allegra in co-ordinating LBDs and strappy sandals. Ooh, and is that Grazia's very own Paula Reed we spy? Yep, the mavens of high-fashion are out in force.
1:43 Jennifer Lawrence and Natalia Vodianova are in the building!
1:39 Marc Jacobs and Diane Von Furstenberg are among the designers attending the show.
1:30 Flowers, one of Christian Dior's obessions, are the central point of the set for today's show at Dior. According to the French fashion house's Twitter feed, there are a MILLION flowers adorning the walls of the 5 private salons housing the show today.
