Ah, Margherita Missoni! We already knew you were one of the coolest fashion kids on the block – a girl who knew how to handle the heavy Missoni legacy with nonchalance and rock a wicked headband. But should we need any further proof, your wedding this weekend gives us just that.
The fashion heiress – daughter of creative director Angela Missoni – married her beau Eugenio Amos in Italy this weekend in a ceremony that was, well fashion-tastic. There was the dress: a Giambattista Valli creation made with Missoni silk and organza, which has made us fall in love with the OTT, embellished style all over again.
There were the guests: fashion powerhouse editors Suzy Menkes, Franc Sozzani and Stefano Tonchi made the trip from men’s fashion week in Milan to Brunello, where the bride got married in a traditional ceremony in the Santa Maria Annunciata church. And there was that tiara: a glitzy gothic number that secured her Heidi-esque braids in a way that only Margherita could pull off. Sigh.

Oh, and we haven’t even got into the details yet. Because, as you’d expect from a bride who’s lived most stylishly, every little aspect of the ceremony was thought out. The bridesmaids (who included Tatiana Santa Domingo and Margherita’s sister Teresa) wore floral gowns, with fresh-flower headdresses which matched the bride’s bouquet. The guests ate Moroccan style sitting on cushions scattered on the grass, before watching the happy couple cut the cake – a heart-shaped pastry scattered with fresh raspberries. All together, ahhhhhh!
