H&M are as renowned for the beautiful faces fronting their campaigns as they are for their designer collaborations. The Swedish chain has previously favoured the coolest models in fashion as the face of the brand, with Daria Werbowy, Sasha Pivovarova and Liya Kebede featuring in the past.
But perhaps the tide is turning chez H&M, as the rumour mill is in full swing this morning with speculation that the brand will be choosing none other than Lana del Rey as their new face. This of course isn’t the sultry singer’s first foray into fashion world. Mulberry chose Lana as inspiration for their hit A/W’12 tote bag, the Del Rey, which over a month before it hit stores in May already had a waiting list of over 1000 names. Impressive!
Lana also earned serious fashion stripes last month when she attended the uber-stylish Met Ball with Joseph Altuzarra, wearing a very gothic, and very spectacular creation by the designer.
The singer’s emergence into the fashion scene has been quite slow, and almost reluctant, but to face H&M’s next season’s campaign, which according to rumours is being shot imminently in New York, would make the already popular songstress a household name. Eeek that would be so exciting. So perhaps we can expect del Rey and her prefectly coiffed hair to appear in the ads by Christmas? As of yet nothing has been confirmed yet, but we will obviously be the first to let you know!
