When Plum Sykes got engaged, she went straight to Alexander McQueen because 'I knew he'd do the best dress', constructing it like a piece of sculpture. Speaking to Grazia, the journalist revealed that the designer created an incredible corset and eight-foot train that was embroidered with hand-stitched roses and made from silk paper taffeta overlaid with silk net on the front. Sarah Burton, who was McQueen's right-hand woman at the time, influenced a lot of the dress as she was there for all 10 fittings.
