GALLERY >> On the AW12 campaign trail

Forget the summer sun, here in Blighty, the rain is lashing down, we're wrapped in our cosy cardigans and the peppermint tea is brewing — so how fitting that the Autumn Winter 2012 campaigns are filtering in to give us cold-weather-wardrobe inspiration.

So far, we've been treated to Burberry's new couple looking gorgeously cinematic, Mulberry's furry monsters and Prada's virtual princesses. Meanwhile, Louis Vuitton's luxe steam train has returned and in Marc Jacobs Ville, everyone's looking rather pasty...

So take a trip through the gallery above and don't forget to check back as we update this very page with the latest AW12 shots from the hottest brands. You know you want to.

Mulberry

Oh, how we love Mulberry’s wild things! Forget Lindsey Wixson looking all pouty and check out those giant furry beasts stealing the limelight. The gorgeous bags are rather nice too - from the Del Rey to the new embellished Alexa bags.

Shot by Tim Walker in Blackheath Forest in Surrey, the images conjure up that dark fairy tale vibe although we have an inkling Mulberry's monsters are friendly than your usual fantasy fare.

Prada

Steven Meisel was inspired by videogames for Miuccia's campaign to create 'a playful illusion of perspective and proportion,' according to the press release. It works wonderfully with the collection's geometric patterns set against futuristic sofas.

Prada

Models Elza Luijendijk, Vanessa Axente, Iselin Steiro and Madison Headrick are like 'virtual princesses poised for combat' with dip-dyed hair and thick eyeliner. Could these 'fashion avatars' mean there's a Prada video game in the works?

Emporio Armani

Photographed by Alasdair McLellan, this clean, sharp campaign is set in a nocturnal, futuristic Tokyo. The urban setting gives an edge to the images and those flashy billboards plus powerful graphic symbols really brighten things up.

Louis Vuitton

Remember [a href="/fashion/archive/2012/03/08/katie-grand-on-that-train-for-louis-vuittons-autumn-winter-2012-show--exclusive-.htm">the tremendous steam train[/a] which rolled onto Louis Vuitton's platform catwalk? Well, it's back for the campaign and is more lavish than ever, shot by Steven Meisel and filled with a host of glam ladies kitted out in vintage-inspired coats, feather-embellished hats, google-y sunglasses and, of course, oodles of iconic luggage.

Giorgio Armani

Photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot, the Giorgio Armani campaign sees intense, paint-like black and white shots featuring the gorgeously cheek-boney model Aymeline Valade. She takes centre stage and showcases the collection's ageless elegance with aplomb.

The black and white shots are interspersed with a few sharp and ultra-coloured images. Ooh, what we'd give for a pair of those raspberry trousers...

Marc Jacobs

How we loved those giant furry hats created by Stephen Jones when they first appeared on the catwalk during New York Fashion Week - and they're still tickling our fancy now that they've popped up in Marc Jacobs' campaign. The ginormous headgear is modelled by two newcomer models, Marie Piovesan and Marte Mei van Haaster, who were shot by Juergen Teller while lazing on a beach in their winter finery - as you do.

The beauties work paler-than-pale complexions with heavy eye makeup and blood-red lips. It's rather vampire-esque, dontcha think?

Prada

Yes, we know it's menswear but seriously, HELL-OO gentlemen! Forget the pretty ladies, Prada signed up Gary Oldman, Garrett Hedlund, Jamie Bell and Willem Dafoe to model in their newest campaign after the dapper chaps did such a grand job of walking in the brand's menswear show. Well, you can't blame Miuccia for wanting to recreate the magic, eh?

Shot by David Sims, the quartet are looking super sharp in their suits and were chosen to 'represent a cross-generational broadening of the face of Prada menswear.' Yes please.

Versace

Mert & Marcus are the photographers behind Versace's AW12 offering and this season, they've conjured up a striking set of black and white images starring edgy models Elza Luijendijk and Kaccey Carrig. The shoot took place in our very own city of London and in the words of Donatella, 'the result is bold, strong, iconic and perfectly conveys the sexy rock vibe of our collection'. Too true.

Burberry

Christopher Bailey has a brand new Burberry couple on his books and they are gorgeously sumptuous, natch. Meet stunning actress Gabriella Wilde and super-hot singer Roo Panes who conjure up that quintessential Britishness with the help of smoke, rain and fog machines. Good work.
