Every girl likes a Karl Lagerfeld creation, right? But when said creation is going for a jaw-dropping £29,000 - yes, that's TWENTYNINE THOUSAND POUNDS - we may have to reassess our savings. For those of you who do have a few pennies to spare, you'll be pleased to know a faaaabulous Karl-designed collar is exclusively launching on Net-A-Porter this very day - how exciting! But because there is only ONE collar of its kind available to purchase globally, it is *ahem* rather pricey. Take a look:
And here's the sales pitch (to be read with a QVC voice). The black metallic leather collar is set with over 40 carats black diamonds and 22.33 carats hydrothermal emerald at the neck. The piece also includes an hydrothermal emerald set in black rhodium and plated with sterling silver. As if that can't convince you to shell out 29K, do bear in mind that the collar will be accompanied by a sketch of the piece signed by Karl Lagerfeld. You sold?
'I’m renowned for my love of a high collar and I wanted to create a true collector’s item with this one-off piece,' says Monsieur Lagerfeld. 'Merging the masculine with the feminine and uniting the world of fine jewelry and high fashion, to me this collar is a work of art and a real show-stopper.' Indeed it is. And if you'd like a close-up of said collar, it will be on display at a specially curated diamond exhibition in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Masterpiece London 2012 will take place between 28 June and 4 July at the South Grounds of The Royal Hospital Chelsea in London and is the ultimate destination to discover the world’s most extraordinary items in art, antiques and design. For example, you'll also be able to get up-close-and-personal to the dazzling gem above.
Meet the Roi D’Obsidienne pendant by Dior consisting of platinum, white gold, rainbow obsidienne and diamonds. That'd do nicely thankyouverymuch. Jewels by Harry Winston, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Georg Jensen, Solange Azagury-Partridge and Tiffany & Co will also be on display. But we bagsy Karl's collar, obvs. Anyone wanna start a collection?
