Kate Middleton's Woodland Wardobe: Zara Jeans, Burberry Shirt and Le Chameau Boots!

If you go down to the woods today... you'll find a dressed-down Duchess! Kate Middleton is taking part in an ‘Expanding Horizons’ primary school scheme this morning and despite trudging through mud, she looks as chic as ever.

Yep, the DoC is walking through the Kent countryside on this fine Sunday with a swarm of kids for charity ARK and, as we predicted, she's digged out a comfy ensemble that mixes designer pieces with high street hotcakes. While her dark blue jeans and khaki jumper are from purse-friendly store Zara, she's added a shirt by Burberry and leather-lined wellies from Le Chameau costing £300.

Kate's also added a waterproof waistcoat by outdoor clothing company Really Wild. As for her legendary tresses, they're scooped into a half-up, half-down style held by a clip. It's an event-appropriate outfit for mucking in, especially as Princess Catherine is set to get her hands dirty making shelters and camp fires with the 28 youngsters aged eight and nine. How fun!

The scheme is co-ordinated by ARK Schools, which gives children from inner-city backgrounds the opportunity to venture into the countryside and develop their confidence and teamwork skills. You'll remember Kate joined Prince William at a swanky fundraising gala for ARK in London last year wearing that sparkling pink Jenny Packham gown and although today's outfit may not be quite as princessy, the children were clearly excited to be in the presence of a real-life Disney Princess. One nipper asked her about taking her seat on the throne to which Kate answered, 'It's not actually my job yet!' And yet she still looks suitably dainty sitting on a woodland log. LOOK:

Today's outing is the latest in a busy weekend for the Duchess of Cambridge. On Friday evening, we saw her wearing the best of the British highstreet to watch a performance of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe and yesterday she was back in ladylike Erdem for the Trooping of the Colour. There'll be another royal appearance for the DoC tomorrow as she takes part in the Order of the Garter so will she be back to her coat dress + fascinator formula? As ever, we'll be watching...

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge with Lupo attends a charity polo match at the Beaufort Polo Club on June 17, 2012 in Tetbury

UPDATE: Just when we thought a Kate Middleton triple whammy was more than enough princessy-ness for one weekend, the Duchess has popped up yet again! After fulfilling her charity duties in the woods of Kent this morning, she was back to wifely duties this afternoon to watch her hubby in action at a charity polo event. Still in her Zara jeans, Burberry shirt and wellies, but now with a preppy brown jacket to match her buckled belt, Kate had raced across the country to see Princes William and Harry compete at the Beaufort Polo Club in Gloucestershire. Zara Phillips and her husband Mike Tindall were also in attendance and Peter Phillips' wife Autumn was spotted with their daughter Savannah while Kate played with her beloved Cocker Spaniel puppy, Lupo.

Tweed, Tea and Wellies (Mon Jun 18 11:07:36 BST 2012): When will our Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, find her way back home to Hunter Boots? Just seems sad that one of Britain and the Royal Family's most treasured brands isn't being supported by the country's newest treasure. http://www.tweedteaandwellies.com/wellies-couture-war-kate-middleton-vs-me/
