The festival season is finally upon us! The sun is shining (well, a bit...) and here at Grazia Daily we're going to be hitting the sales to replenish our festival wardrobes. The Isle of Wight Festival is fast approaching (it kicks off on Friday 22nd June, peeps!) and we can't wait to have a boogie to the likes of Lana Del Rey, Jessie J and Pro Green. To get us in the festival spirit, festie veteran Zoe Ball has exclusively shared her essential survival tips, including a lot of glitter, catsuits, and being a #moshpitmum...
Grazia Daily: What's your top tip for surviving a festival?
Zoe Ball: Bring [a] warm, wet and glam get up and feel the love.
Grazia Daily: What should you always pack for a festival?
Zoe Ball: Some wild capes or glitter jackets so your friends can find you in a crowd and you can feel special even knee deep in mud.
Grazia Daily: What's your festival fashion failsafe?
Zoe Ball: A good cape – whatever the weather festivals are great places to be flamboyant. My mate Cazzacapes always send[s] me off with some glorious creations for glam swirling, I've made some great festival friends through mutual outfit admiration.
Grazia Daily: What's your beauty approach at a festival?
Zoe Ball: I go for Stevie Nicks hair (c/o Batiste dry shampoo), always carry wetwipes (for all your festival needs) and a couple of Topshop glitter eyeliner pens for adding touch of magic late at night.
Grazia Daily: Who's your festival icon?
Zoe Ball: Polly Jean always blows my mind both musically and visually, she is a goddess.
Grazia Daily: What's a big festival no-no?
Zoe Ball: Anything goes at a festival!
Grazia Daily: What's your fondest festival memory?
Zoe Ball: Dancing with Norm[an Cook, Zoe's husband] and our best buds, totally loved up.
Grazia Daily: Have you ever had any festival disasters?
Zoe Ball: I lost my Kate Bush cape (stunning vintage floor length hooded black velvet cloak used to wear over a black catsuit?!). I was gutted but hope someone found it and gave it a good home.
Grazia Daily: What's the best thing about the Isle of Wight Festival?
Zoe Ball: It's [a] right proper rockfest! last year Iggy pop, Kasabian and The Foo Fighters were immense. This year i'm excited about The boss, Tom Petty - but most exciting for me – Pearl jam. I saw pearl jam at brixton academy 20 years ago, i'm going to go crackers when they play saturday night, hold me back, #moshpitmum.
Grazia Daily: If you could see anyone perform at a festival, who would it be and why?
Zoe Ball: Talking Heads. [I] love David Byrne, Tina Weymouth is frankly the sexiest mother effing bass player ever, [and] they put on such extraordinary mental visually delightful shows. May still happen? Let's hope.
