Forget the year of the Jubilee… or the Olympics, we think it’s fair to say that 2012 is the year of Lindsay Lohan’s comeback. First, we see the stunning photos of LiLo as Elizabeth Taylor, clad in leopard print, pastels and extra big sunglasses and now, we hear that she’s starring in a film by 'American Psycho' writer, Bret Easton Ellis.

It wasn’t long ago that Lindsay got fired from the production of ‘Lovelace’ with her role of former porn star Linda Lovelace going to Amanda Seyfried instead but she’s now set to star in indie sexual thriller ‘The Canyons’ alongside er, 26-year-old adult star James Deen (no, that’s not his real name. It’s actually Bryan Sevilla).

Author, Bret Easton Ellis tweeted this week ‘Shooting THE CANYONS starring James Deen and Lindsay Lohan: July 9-31 in L.A. Could not have dreamed of a better cast. Lindsay nailed it...’ Go Linds!

The racy film is set to chart the lives of a group of twentysomethings involved in the world of glamour, crime and sex in LA 2012 and will be directed by 1980’s 'American Gigolo' director, Paul Schrader so is sure to cause a stir once it’s out next year.

After being involved in a car crash last Friday that totalled Lindsay’s rented black Porsche, we’re happy to report that the starlet is still up and running on the set of ‘Liz and Dick’ and we expect to see a lot more Lindsay on the big screen (and hopefully not on the news screens) this year.
