She may be a supermodel but Kate Moss still has the odd fashion crisis, can’t bear to throw anything away and turns to husband Jamie for style-advice. Oh, and she has found out you can’t walk a dog in heels.
As the current face of high street hero Mango, Mossy was in Barcelona last week to sit on the judging panel of the fourth Mango Fashion Awards. While she was there, Grazia's Polly Vernon was lucky enough to meet Croydon's finest for a one-on-one chat. In the latest issue of Grazia (out now!), we bring you the exclusive interview in full but in the meantime, we can tell you that Kate 'definitely' still gets excited about clothes and Sarah Burton gave her that gorgeous blue Alexander McQueen gown she wore in American Vogue, remember?
Brilliantly, the model dishes on her 'insane' wardrobe, which is organised into various sections per garment. What a dream! Also, now that she has a pet pup, Kate says she's dressing for Day rather than Night. Why? Because 'you can’t do a dog in a heel!' As for whether getting hitched to Jamie Hince last year has affected her sense of style, the icon says her hubby 'would go mental' if she started dressing like a wife. Yep, this girl is rock n roll through and through.

How does it feel to be a judge?
Kate Moss: Honoured, it’s really nice to be here. It’s great they're supporting all these young designers
Who was your guardian angel when you first started out?
Kate Moss: My agent, I’m still with them after a very long time. They discovered me and they were always there.
So what are the components to a brilliant designer?
Kate Moss: They obviously have to have passion, imagination and determination. It’s a tough business, I think always believe in themselves. Originality is obviously important as there are so many people who want to do it.
So what’s the most important ingredient? Huge creative vision or well-made clothes that sell?
Kate Moss: Both. You have to capture people’s imaginations and then it leads into the daily lives of those amazing shows that feature the clothes but you can wear them in everyday life.
So which of the iconic designers you’ve worked with have that magic?
Kate Moss: [John] Galliano shows, always. They were like magic theatre.
How does it feel to be known constantly as a fashion icon?
Kate Moss: I don’t really think about it, I couldn’t. If I thought about it I wouldn’t be able to get dressed in a morning. I just wear what I feel like wearing.
So in a sentence what are your thoughts on Mango as a brand?
Kate Moss: Mango is amazing because they are supporting the young designers who will eventually be working for massive companies like Mango.
So if you were going to give an award for style who would it be?
Kate Moss: Julie Christie or someone like that.
